Meet the Queens Team Behind Brandt HVAC Co Queens

When your furnace quits on a January night in Flushing or the AC dies during a July heat wave in Astoria, the person who shows up at your door matters as much as what’s in the truck. Our Queens crew is a small, tight group of technicians and coordinators who’ve worked in New York City buildings long enough to know that every job is different. Some of us grew up in the borough. Some came here for the work and stayed. What unites us is simpler: we tell you the truth, we write the price down before we touch anything, and we don’t leave until it’s fixed right.

Our People

Devin Marlowe, Owner

Devin Marlowe started in HVAC as an apprentice in 2003, the same year Brandt became part of the Threshold Group family. Two decades later, he still checks the morning service board before the first call goes out. His specialty is diagnostics on older residential systems: the Carrier units from the early 2000s, the Rheem furnaces with cracked heat exchangers, the Lennox condensers that have survived three mayoral administrations and a hurricane. Devin writes the way he talks on a job site: if a repair is straightforward, he says so; if it’s going to cost money, he says that too, and tells you exactly why. He lives in Forest Hills with a dog that has strong opinions about the mail carrier.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been turning wrenches in Queens for 14 years, the last six of them with Brandt. He’s EPA-certified and handles most of our refrigerant work, which in this borough often means diagnosing why a rooftop condenser in Sunnyside lost its charge or why a ductless split in a converted Ridgewood loft isn’t cooling the back half. Marcus is the guy who can tell you the age of a Goodman unit by its serial number without looking anything up. He keeps a notebook in the truck where he logs every oddball repair he’s seen, a habit he picked up from his first foreman. On weekends he rebuilds old motorcycles in a shared garage in Long Island City.

Elena R., Senior Installer

Elena runs our installation crew and has been placing residential HVAC systems in New York building stock for over a decade. She specializes in the tight spaces: basement furnaces in Jackson Heights with 80-year-old ductwork, attic air handlers in Bayside where the access hatch is the size of a cereal box. Elena is certified on Daikin and Bryant equipment and prefers installing American Standard for reasons she’ll happily explain if you ask. She grew up in Corona and knows the difference between a pre-war building’s original risers and a 1990s retrofit at a glance. Elena is the reason we order the long pry bar that only she uses.

Samir P., Service Coordinator

Samir is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. when your boiler’s pressure relief valve is dripping and you’re not sure if that’s an emergency. He’s worked dispatch for Queens HVAC companies for eight years and joined Brandt in 2021. Samir doesn’t do phone trees, doesn’t read from scripts, and doesn’t put you on hold unless he’s actually pulling up the day’s route. His job is to ask the right questions, get the right technician dispatched, and tell you exactly who’s coming and when, so nobody opens the door to a surprise. He commutes in from Kew Gardens and keeps a bread recipe going at all times.

One Standard, Every Job

The Threshold Standard is how we describe the way every Brandt technician gets hired and vetted. It means each person on this page passed a background check and identity verification before they ever put on the uniform. It means you know the name and see a photo of the technician before they ring your bell, and that same technician shows you a photo ID at the door. If someone arrives who you were not told to expect, that visit is on us and we make it right. Every job gets a written price before any work starts. Every repair gets a written guarantee that states exactly what it covers and for how long. If that repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back free under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. No argument, no second invoice. That’s the standard in Queens and at every independently owned Brandt location across the network. The phones are answered by a live person 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and if you call (845) 328-4955 tonight, the person who picks up works here, not in a call center.
